Xining is located up the Huangshui River-one of the tributary of the Yellow River. It is the combination of the Loess Plateau and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau; Agriculture area and Pastoral area; Han Chinese Culture and Tibetan Culture. It is the start of Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
